I am one of the greatest in the latest line of fools And it's not complicated, yeah we fall apart and come together too And we're not gonna make it, not the way we wanted to I'm just one of the latest in the greatest line, the greatest line of fools They say it'll never happen to you You cross your t's, dot your i's That oughta be enough But these are troubled times, troubled times for me and you I am part of the choir singing all these lies to you Wasn't like I was trying, yeah I coulda swore, coulda swore it's true But it got complicated like intentions tend to do I'm just part of the choir singing all these lies thinking that they're true They say it'll never happen to you You cross your t's, dot your i's That oughta be enough But these are troubled times, troubled times for me and you Tell it to me once, it'll be alright You don't have to tell me twice Tell it to me, tell it to me, tell it to me Everything will be alright

I got my eyes on so much I can't see I'm crossing over into the wrong lane Out past the edge of the town that made me The place where I was contained But the storm was there in my line of sight And the map's as bad as my luck tonight Ran outta road but the weather didn't run out of rainclouds Nowhere to go but it's getting too late to turn back When you got something to prove you can put it into drive When there's nothing left to lose yeah it's good to be alive Ran outta road so I said hello to the unknown I bet they're gathered around a table Remembering all those words of warning How do you want to make your label The one that carries your story Someone's gotta be the cautionary tale For the ones who don't try they just need to see you fail Ran outta road but the weather didn't run out of rainclouds Nowhere to go but it's getting too late to turn back When you got something to prove you can put it into drive When there's nothing left to lose yeah it's good to be alive Ran outta road so I said hello to the unknown

From the very first time I saw you I recognized that angry face I felt the same And as we walked at your pace it felt like the world had stopped I don't know how I shot a prayer straight through the clouds Don't turn on me now, stay right here Nothing can last I fear my dear Don't turn on me now, stay with me I'll be the one just wait and see From the second we kissed I knew that this would be something I would miss It's come to this Just a boy and a girl united Black shadow to a Peter Pan So sure that no one understands Don't turn on me now, stay right here Nothing can last I fear my dear Don't turn on me now, stay with me I'll be the one just wait and see Is this the very last time I'll see you? I ask that every single day That's just my way To make it last a little more Can I ask a little more? Don't turn on me now, stay right here Nothing can last I fear my dear Don't turn on me now, stay with me I'll be the one just wait and see

I got a whole lotta problems that I choose to ignore To keep a lookout for some good news So if my eyes glaze over when we're talking What does that say about you? Check out this tunnel full of vision yeah it's ready to drive A narrow alley motorway and I don't know who will survive But they're lining up And it's one more foot reaching for a ladder One more hand reaching for the top Every time the world outside gets in my ear begging me to stop Well whaddya say? I took a walk to the bar it was a little far But it was worth it for the headliner When the show was over he was there in the back In a booth in a corner of a greasy diner, he said "Don't ever learn too much about your heroes" I got flustered, lost and confused And when my heart got sober I poured it over A glass of ice and I poked at the bruise One more foot reaching for a ladder One more hand reaching for the top Every time the world outside gets in my ear begging me to stop Well whaddya say? I believe I can do better Shackled to the drawing board Shackled to the drawing board I was shackled 'til my arms were sore I believe I can do better One more foot reaching for a ladder One more hand reaching for the top Every time the world outside gets in my ear begging me to stop Well whaddya say? I believe I can do better Shackled to the drawing board Shackled to the drawing board I was shackled 'til my arms were sore I believe I can do better Do you believe I can? Cuz I believe I can I believe I can do better

Go Getter 04:07
Here's a girl who needs no introduction Here's a boy who's got something to prove Lingering on my mind A second chance to make you mine Listen to the voice that's telling you Hey go getter, go and get her on your side Obstacles have cleared a path for you Hey don't let her get away this time Obstacles have cleared a path Here's a work of art still in production Here's an easy choice but you must choose Show me where to cut in line Show me where and I will sign Listen to the voice that's telling you Hey go getter, go and get her on your side Obstacles have cleared a path for you Hey don't let her get away this time Obstacles have cleared a path There's such a thing as being too polite There's such a thing as saying Girl I'm gonna make you mine Here's a girl who needs no introduction Here's a boy who's got something to prove Lingering on my mind A second chance to make you mine Listen to the voice that's telling you Hey go getter, go and get her on your side Obstacles have cleared a path for you Hey don't let her get away this time Obstacles have cleared a path for you And now you know exactly what to do

I was from a quiet town in Illinois The world was always out there since I was a boy One day you're tired of playing with your toys The next day comes, your bags are packed You hit the pavement like a game of jacks and I'm Gonna take a ride to another life I was from a quiet town in Illinois It was so quiet we were suspicious of the noise You had to be suspicious, you didn't have a choice Even if the sound you heard was coming from your voice Gonna take a ride to another life Get another life, get a life, get another life Get a life and get down to it Get another life, get a life, get another life Get a life before you blew it And we're gonna ride to another life I was from a quiet town in Illinois

Yeah it used to be easy Just to be who you are Back when nobody knew you But babe you're a star Now where in the world do you go to get out of bed? And where in the world can you get out of your head? Yeah my mama said "laugh in the face of death" Now I'm laughing so hard I can't catch a breath It's a lesson that I just had to learn Somewhere in the world that I'd like to return Like my daddy once told me There's no time to rest Til your good turns to better And your better to best Now where in the world do you go to get out of bed? And where in the world can you get out of your head? Yeah my mama said "laugh in the face of death" Now I'm laughing so hard I can't catch a breath It's a lesson that I just had to learn Somewhere in the world that I'd like to return Where in the world do I even begin Where in the world can I go to start again Where in the world, where am I now? Now where in the world do you go to get out of bed? And where in the world can you get out of your head? Yeah my mama said "laugh in the face of death" Now I'm laughing so hard I can't catch a breath It's a lesson that I just had to learn Somewhere in the world that I'd like to return

You're outgrowing the garden Anybody could see All those colorful flowers above the weeds You're out planning your exit They're just paving the street Don't mind if they don't notice when you leave It don't matter where you're from I don't care what you've done All of act one was pleasing everyone All of act two is trying something new You can start over, it just takes a little time And maybe it's time You're outgrowing the garden Anybody could see All those colorful flowers above the weeds You're out planning your exit They're just paving the street Don't mind if they don't notice when you leave Where you come from, who you are Couldn't be further apart I wanna know who will climb down from their tree Just to take in all the forest they can see You can start over, it just takes a little time And maybe it's time You're outgrowing the garden Anybody could see All those colorful flowers above the weeds

Some people like a good mystery Some people don't have a clue Somewhere in all that mess I found you Showing up for the photograph With advice when no one asked You just cut my smile in half Now you tell me I have to laugh Ha Some people like a good mystery Some people don't have a clue Somewhere in all that mess I found you But now I see you You got caught, you thought fast Swore that change was in your grasp How'd you get away with that Like show and tell with a sociopath Pulling bullshit from a hat Somehow someone starts to clap I'm still trying to do the math You cut my smile in half Now you tell me I have to laugh Ha

You can tell me I should slow down I won't hear you I'm running late Gotta run myself into the ground Gotta run the ship until it sinks You could put me in a field of flowers I won't stop to smell a rose I'm just moving every single hour Don't have time to wonder where it goes Heaven above and hell below And it's easy to love all the things you know in this world Hell below, heaven above I try yes I'm trying to know what I love In this world Fun times ahead 'til the day we're dead I could use a healthy fear of dying It's a fear that always multiplies Like a rabbit in a wonderland Running like a million grains of sand Falling down inside an hourglass Just a pile of the time we pass Arguing about the same old thing Turn it over let me start again Heaven above and hell below And it's easy to love all the things you know in this world Hell below, heaven above I try yes I'm trying to know what I love In this world Let 'em sink, let 'em swim Let a her be a him Let a hymn be a song That will carry you home Heaven above and hell below And it's easy to love all the things you know in this world Hell below, heaven above I try yes I'm trying to know what I love In this world Fun times ahead 'til the day we're dead

about

From now through July 4th, 100% of the digital sales of this album are going to helping our musical brother Ellis Wright as he is currently being treated for colorectal cancer. Ellis is a dear friend, a Navy veteran, a brilliant artist on the saxophone, a staple of the Joliet music scene, and as music is his full time job this diagnosis and treatment to fight it has added its share of challenges to his ability to work. We're hoping you'll help us help him, the $10 price is just a suggestion but if you can donate what you can we appreciate any support you can give.
